2023 was awesome.
Our team launched a podcast and some pretty cool merch. We told lots of stories about what it looks like to call State College home. We created a tool to help you encourage your friends and family to move (back) to town. We answered questions big and small for those ready to make the move. And we’ve dreamed up even more fun projects (and new t-shirt ideas!) for 2024.
In 2023, we shared lots of State College love. Here’s what you have loved in return!
On Instagram?
The nominees for “Favorite Post” were…
– Downtown State College Pride prep!
– An incredibly cute rave!
– And a “Sears-iously” fun fact!
And which post did you (literally) “Like” the most?
This one! (And who could blame you? Who doesn’t love a good before and after?!)
On the pod?
You listened to our interview about owning a real estate investment and interior design company with Josh and Lizzie Parra more than any other. (With chats about teaching full time at Penn State without a PhD and running a children’s musical theater program following closely behind!)
Listen to all of Season One of the Rediscover State College Podcast
On the blog?
We gave tips on winter survival. We shared a little piece of springtime heaven. We lived our best summer life (and ate a lot of wings). And shared the things we really love about fall.
But this post about what to do on a rainy day in State College was the most-read of the year!
And in your closet?
This shirt was voted Most Likely to Make You Laugh and Most Likely to Be Added to Your Wardrobe! (And your State Forest love and Slab Cabin survival pride didn’t go unnoticed either!)
From the whole Rediscover State College team, Happy New Year!
We’ve loved sharing State College with you in 2023! And if 2024 finds you making the move to town, we’re here to help. If you have questions or need help plugging into the community, shoot us a note anytime!
Laura Mustio made her way to State College via Pittsburgh in 2015. Her writing celebrates our area’s hidden gems, treasured locals, and not-to-be-missed experiences.
