Did You Know…?

Last month, the Calder Way Pop-Up hosted Rebecca Larsen’s Elements Apothecary & Boutique as a part of its monthly rotation of small businesses.

Since May, Calder Way has been experiencing a monthly infusion of exciting small business energy with the opening of a new pop-up shop!

Each month, the previously vacant space at 236 E. Calder Way gives a rotating lineup of local vendors a cost-effective and low-risk way to get a taste of brick and mortar life, helping them build brand awareness, test out new products, and chat face to face with established and new customers.

The initiative, spearheaded by Comet Properties and the Downtown State College Improvement District, was started with the hope that some of these businesses will go on to lease other spaces downtown once their month is up, adding even more vibrancy to town. (And with Town Pride – a shop that will feature USA-made products with a nod to State College and Central PA – set to move into another Calder Way space full time this coming spring, the program is off to a great start.)

Inspiring collaborations between local vendors, the Calder Way Pop-Up has so far seen handbags and ceramics, tea and breathwork classes, and an apothecary and vintage shop, among other concepts – with more to come!

Have a small business that’s ready for its brick and mortar moment? Interested vendors can reach out to Dave Fonash directly at dave@continentalrealestate.net with questions or apply here to be considered for a future opening.

In the meantime, make sure your next trip downtown includes a walk down Calder to see what’s being offered in the space this month!

Just a few of the talented local vendors and shop setups that the Calder Way Pop-Up has seen over the past several months. How many versions of the shop have you been to so far?!
