If you’re thinking of making the move to State College, you probably want to stay in the loop about interesting things going on in the area. Here are a few noteworthy things we’ve been talking about lately!

Here’s what’s been going on — in addition to finally getting some rain!
Our favorite local music festival!
Rhoneymeade Fest 2023 came and went in early June and we’re still feeling the picnic blanket, bump into friends, come home with glitter on your face, good vibes! Those of us who experienced any of the more than 35 national and local acts that performed over three days at Rhoneymeade Arboretum and Sculpture Garden and various downtown State College locations know that we’re lucky to have this unique and inspired event right in our backyard.
(Follow @gorintoproductions for more local music events and save the date for next year’s event: May 31-June 2, 2024!)
Get outside with Centred Outdoors!
If this wonderful – and free! – local resource isn’t on your radar, it should be. Join for outdoor outings and wellness activities all summer. From a downtown State College art walk to a tour of Bald Eagle State Park, there are a wide variety of weekly opportunities to spend some quality time outside. (Oh, and if you bring the kids along? Don’t forget to borrow a Jr. Naturalist backpack, full of magnifying glasses, binoculars, and other tools for exploration!)
A New Sister (City)!
In May, State College and Nizhyn, Ukraine, officially became sister cities. And in June, a concert was held to benefit the war-damaged town. Like StateCollege, Nizhyn is a college town and is home to one of Ukraine’s major universities. Learn more about our new sisterhood here!
And Happy Valley Restaurant Week is back!
Centre County’s premier culinary celebration is happening now and we’re happily eating our way through the list of participating restaurants. The event closes June 25, so there’s still time to get in on the deliciousness if you haven’t already! (P.S. Wondering how to build a deeper sense of community in State College? This post talks about last year’s Restaurant Week event and how to do just that.)
Oh! And did you catch these?
We recently had one of those days and wrote about it. And this post was one of our Instagram community’s favorites this month!
