A brick-and-mortar home for a beloved online farmers market
We love Centre Markets and are so excited about their future plans for expansion! Currently an online-only connection point for local farmers and residents, the market is working to establish an in-person, year-round food hub, complete with an incubator commercial kitchen. Lovers of thriving agricultural and food entrepreneur communities, rejoice!
Giovanna’s Journey
Local Jean Franzetta, owner and artisan behind Giovanna’s Gourmets, is a cookie-decorating genius. (See for yourself!) When we saw that she had the opportunity to create cookies for Journey’s 50th Anniversary tour… we got even more starry-eyed with admiration. We’re confident there’s no treat too sweet, sassy, whimsical, or fun that Jean can’t create!
A Nonprofit Love Fest
Centre Gives, Centre Foundation’s 36-hour giving event raised $2 million last year! This year’s event is happening this week, May 10 and 11, which means it’s time to think about all of the local orgs that make your life better and get ready to enthusiastically shower them with your cash. It’s time! One of the largest used book sales in the country is back and we’re ready to bring home an armful of fun, new-to-us reads. This year’s sale is happening May 13-16 and if it’s anything like past years’ sales? Thousands of people will visit Penn State’s Snider Agricultural Arena to browse and purchase up to quarter of a million books.
